Tonight on New Years Revolution Lita could not have had a worse night. The match started slowly as both Lita and Trish went back and forth, Lita eventually gained some momentum and threw Trish to the outside, she got on the apron and jumped down onto Trish landing hard on her left knee. Lita rolled over in pain grabbing her knee. Trish throws Lita back in the ring and dominates her. Lita tries to fight back with some punches, Trish goes to work on Lita's right knee and lays some hits on her hurt left knee as well. Lita tries to nail a DDT however Trish reverses and hits Lita with a chick kick to win the match and become the new women's champion. Officials make their way into the ring and hover over Lita who continues to show pain from her knee. Lita is helped up and she gets out of the ring with a hurt sad look on her face, Lita walks to the back limping on her injured knee.

Lita injures knee, loses Women’s Title

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – Just a few weeks back, Lita had the night of her life. The daredevil Diva defeated Trish Stratus in a thrilling Raw main event for the Women’s Championship in her home state of North Carolina. With the crowd in a frenzy, she walked up the aisle with the title held high above her head. It was quite possibly the greatest moment of her career. Unfortunately, New Year’s Revolution didn’t turn out to be so lucky for Lita. In the middle of the match, she suffered a knee injury, which aside from putting her career temporarily on hold, also cost her the Women’s Title.
“It’s probably been an hour since my match, and it’s really starting to tighten up right now,” Lita told WWE.com from the trainer’s room, where she sat watching a small color monitor. “When I jumped off the rope, I totally heard it pop, felt it pop, and I knew right away that something was wrong. I didn’t know if I could stand on it, but I just felt like I wanted to give it a few seconds before I even tried.”
Even though Lita knew she’d hurt he knee badly, her never say die attitude led her to continue the match, including an improbable comeback attempt. Still, an able-bodied, and 100% healthy Stratus eventually picked up the win.
The ref kept asking me if I was OK, but I just wouldn’t say no, because I didn’t want that to be the answer,” Lita continued. “Trish had already pushed the ref aside, so I tried to fight her back. I actually got a little bit of offense on her, and then my knee buckled again. At that point, I just knew that I couldn’t do anything, and that I couldn’t stand.”
Immediately after the contest ended, Lita was helped to the back, and given ice to put on her sore knee. Having turned down a trip to the hospital, Lita met with Raw’s head trainer Chris Brannon, who told her of the possibilities surrounding her injury.
“The trainer is hoping that it’s just a strained ligament or tendon,” Lita elaborated. “They are hoping that it is just stretched, and that it’s something which won’t require surgery – It’ll just need to rest. So I’m crossing my fingers that that’s what it is. I’m actually going to get an MRI done tomorrow.”
After talking with a few other Superstars who have suffered similar injuries, Lita learned that in a best case scenario, she would only miss up to three weeks. In the event of a torn, or stretched muscle, the only surefire way of healing it, is not using it – a sacrifice that’s easier said than done by an active athlete, like Lita.
“Resting is always the hardest thing for us because all we want to do is go go go,” Lita admitted, “but if it means three weeks out of action, as opposed to several months out, then I will do it. This way I can come back 100% and get my rematch.”

I am SO pissed about last night. I mean, I understand Lita got injured, but the way the match ended was fucking stupid as hell. I hated last night, it was extremely disappointing.
